Tickets are now on sale through Club Reception and the Main Bar for the clubs annual major fundraising event, The Black-Tie Ball.
This is a fantastic night with great food, drink, and entertainment. Most importantly, it’s also a great mix of people from our local community, including club members, local business, and other club supporters.
This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday 1st September 2018 from 7pm and promises to be even bigger and better than those past.
Along with a beautiful menu from Spinnakers, great wines from Oatley Fine Wines, and awesome beers from CUB, we also have a fantastic band booked in for the night.
Another major feature of the night is the fundraising auction. We have already secured some fantastic auction items through our club supporters including; a P &O Cruise, VIP Mudgee Wine experience, Hamilton Island Getaway, Outdoor Furniture Setting, Home Alarm System (installed), Audi Track Experience, Sporting Memorabilia and much more! Further details of each auction item will be provided in the coming weeks. Tim Andrews from LJ Hooker Terrigal will be our auctioneer on the night, so that in itself will be entertaining!
I am also excited to announce our guest speaker that we have secured for this year’s Black-Tie Ball. See the below excerpt on Michael Crossland, one of Australia’s most sought-after speakers:
“Raw, real and truly life-changing is the best way to describe Michael Crossland…
He is one extraordinary young man who has defied the odds of not only life-threatening cancer as a baby but was the only survivor of a horrific drug trial that killed all except Michael. He continues the battle to this very day and spending nearly a quarter of his life in hospital, he is a true fighter.
Despite all of this, he has built a life of exceptional achievements. A young man who was told only what he could not do, this has not stopped him from showing the world that he could. An accomplished businessman and an elite sportsman, his life is a remarkable success. Michael is at the forefront of today’s new generation of inspirational speakers and after releasing his first ‘tell-all’ autobiography in 2016, he is now a number one bestselling author across six different countries.
As seen on Sunrise, Studio 10, Daily Edition, Australian Stories, MTV, Fox Sports News to name just a few, Michael speaks to CEOs, corporates, business leaders, schools/colleges and professional sporting organisations around the world. In the past 12 months his total audience numbers both nationally and internationally exceed 250,000.”

Over the past two years, this event has raised around $70,000.00 which has allowed the club to purchase a new race management boat that supports all on-water activities.
This year’s event we are hoping to raise + $30,000.00 to purchase three new outboard motors for rescue / support boats (ribs).
To help us achieve this target, I am reaching out to all members for their support of this event. Simply by purchasing tickets you will be helping us in achieving our goal. By bidding on one or more of our great auction items, you will be supporting even more!
If you are unable to attend, you can make a tax deductable donation through the Australian Sports Foundation LTD (ABN 27008613859 / DIV 30, S30 – 90) before the end of the financial year. This can be done at the Club Reception during normal business hours.
Thanks for all your support.

Vinyl covers the hits predominantly from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. They are a versatile band that play rock, classic pop, soul, funk and disco.
Vinyl is not your average cover band. They play some of the greatest songs from those decades of unforgettable music. You won’t hear tired old songs played by your typical pub band but rather, a polished performance of those classic hits other bands are afraid to try.
Great drink specials on from 7pm!
